I absolutely loved planning my daughters 1st Birthday and think if I wasn't a designer, I'd totally go down the event planning route!!
I'm absolutely obsessed with Pinterest and got a lot of my ideas from there... I went with a simple pink theme with gold/cream accents.

I had it in my mums conservatory where it was well lit and the children and parents could go outside, as it was in early September so still quite warm!
Inside, I decorated with Pom-poms and bunting which I made myself and strung up some month-by-month photos of Madison which made for a great conversation starter!
For food, I tried to cater for little fingers and kept it really simple, not wanting to spend too much time cooking and preparing beforehand.
I served sandwiches, soft crisps (Such as Wotsits, Quavers etc.), cupcakes, breadsticks, cubes of cheese, cherry tomatoes and cocktail sausages.
Little paper cups of raisins and cheerios were also a big hit with the children who liked to have a little bit more independence - even if they did end up everywhere!
I also served fresh chopped fruit on kebab sticks - they were brilliant and the mummy's with younger children and babies could take the fruit off for them, or mush for babies.
I added a few finishing touches to my daughters big day by doing her a birthday chalkboard, made up of her mini-milestones and getting her a little pink and gold birthday hat made by Bambini Bowtique.
It was such a lovely day and I hope when she's older she will look back at all the photos and know just how loved she is! :)
